The Best Christian Leaders

1 Corinthians 11:1: Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

The best Christian leaders lead by example. They tell their followers how to live the Christian life Biblically AND THEY SHOW THEM. They practice what they preach. They demonstrate complete moment by moment dependence upon God. They are humble. They are not perfect and they know it. They are committed to the Bible. They live and breathe the Bible. They are committed to prayer. They seek the Lord*s guidance and help before every decision and every task. They are unselfish. They are servants of others. They are gracious. They are consistent. They are dependable. They do their duty. They are wise. They are patient. They are slow to anger. They are thoughtful. They are loving. They are joyful. They are sober. They are vigilant. They are peaceful. They love peace but they take stands for the Lord, not for themselves. They stand for what is right. They hate sin. They are easy to be entreated. They are strong. They are teachable. They have had good examples to follow and they do follow them. They could not be or do any of these things without the Lord working in them, and certainly not all of them.

The Lord has given me some wonderful Christian leaders that it was wise to follow and some that only fools would follow. He helps us to know the difference. Sometimes it takes some time to know the difference. The more we study the Bible for ourselves, the more we will know the difference. The more we ask Him to show us which leaders to follow and which ones not to follow, the more He will.

Exodus 23:2: Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:

This issue is important enough that the Lord actually commanded the people of Israel to destroy people that would have led them astray.

Deuteronomy 7:23-26: But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. 24 And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them. 25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God. 26 Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
